Due
to the response from the horizontal industry this association was
created. More and more issues were being placed on the industry
with no recourse. Now with force in numbers a forum is in place to
tackle problems that arise. Not that there aren’t enough present
problems.
On May 31, 2001 many people from all parts of the horizontal
industry gather at Tru- Bore Technologies in Columbus, Ohio. It
was also hosted by Baroid Drilling Fluids. There was an informal
roundtable meeting. It was decided that a state association to
address state or local issues is necessary.
On March 7, 2002 a board of directors was put in place with the
task of setting up the legal aspects. This was achieved and much
more. You can contact us by phone, fax, or e-mail to address
issues. The plan is to have three or four general membership
meetings. Issues that are real and present will be the topic. A
yearly convention is for your chance to see what’s new in the
industry.
Be part of history because we are making it now. This is the
first of many states that are organizing. This is your chance to
have a say in what direction this industry will go. Be involved!
