History

Although Moving Ahead began 1984, with the design of greeting cards in Spanish, Arabic and Chinese, initial work began several years earlier, in 1979. During that year, the company's founder was awarded a Teaching Associate position at The Ohio State University, Department of Spanish, where many of the original concepts and materials for Moving Ahead were started. Over the years, the company has grown to meet communication needs on many levels including in print, broadcast media and on the Internet.

Founder

Moving Ahead Communications' Founder and President is Diana Barnum. In a nutshell, her freelance experience includes hundreds of client projects of all sizes, from individuals who work at home to large companies like a local hospital. She is a graduate student working on an MBA eCommerce & Technical Communication with Honors, is a past Spanish teacher at The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree and has had hundreds of articles & press releases published in print magazines & newspapers, plus many more online.

Her credentials also include being a Graduate of the American Writers & Artists Institute Accelerated Copywriting Program; Bootcamp & Direct Marketing University Graduate; and Master’s Program (pursuing); Willie Crawford's Internet Marketing How-To Workshop in FL (2003, 2004), Yanik Silver’s Secret Underground Internet Marketing Workshop in DC I , II && III (2005, 2006 & 2007), Carl Galletti’s Internet Marketing Super Conference in Las Vegas (2005 & 2006) and many targeted industry events for print editorial content and photos including the fields of Growers / Gardening / Greenhouses, Waste Handling / Construction / Quarries; writing conferences and workshops.

Community service is important, demonstrated as both her company and she personally volunteer time and offer support to many non-profits. A long list of those include Marion Correctional Institution teaching writing workshops to inmates ready for reentry into society, and marketing / writing and other help for the Capital Area Humane Society.
